Apostille & Legalised Document Translation UK
Translation of apostilled documents and preparation of translations for apostille legalisation.
Apostille legalisation confirms a document's authenticity for use in another country. We translate apostilled documents and prepare certified translations suitable for apostille legalisation by the FCDO. Used for international legal, business, and personal matters.
What is an apostille and when do I need one?
An apostille is a certificate issued by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) that authenticates a UK document for use abroad. You may need an apostille when submitting UK documents to authorities in Hague Convention countries.
An apostille (or Hague Apostille) is an internationally recognised form of document authentication. It is required when you need to use a UK-issued document in another country that is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention.
Common scenarios include using UK birth certificates or marriage certificates abroad, submitting UK qualifications to overseas employers or universities, and international property transactions. The apostille itself is issued by the FCDO, not by translators.

- Birth and marriage certificates for overseas use
- Degree certificates for international employment
- Power of attorney documents for cross-border matters
- Business documents for international transactions
Do I need a translation of an apostille?
If you are submitting an apostilled UK document to authorities in a non-English-speaking country, you will likely need a certified translation of both the document and the apostille certificate. We translate both.
When a UK document with an apostille is submitted to authorities in a country where English is not the official language, both the document and the apostille certificate itself may need translation. We provide certified translations of the complete package.
Conversely, if you have a foreign apostilled document that you need to use in the UK, we can translate both the document and its apostille into English.
How much does apostille translation cost?
Translation of apostilled documents costs from £12.99 per page, the same as our standard certified translation rate. The apostille certificate itself is typically 1 additional page to translate.
Our pricing for apostille-related translations is the same as our standard certified translation: £12.99 per page. If you need both the original document and the apostille certificate translated, the cost covers both pages.
Note: We provide translation services only. The apostille legalisation itself must be obtained from the FCDO (currently £75 per document). We can advise on the process but do not handle FCDO submissions.
