About apostilles
- An apostille is the certificate that lets a public document from one Hague Convention country be accepted in another. For UK documents it's issued by the FCDO (Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office).
- Some countries aren't part of the Hague Convention and need embassy legalisation instead. Tell us where the documents are going and we'll advise.
- Always check the requirements with the organisation that asked for the apostille. They decide what they accept.
