Can I translate my own documents for INZ?
No. INZ asks for translations made independently, not by the applicant or their family. A professional certified translation meets that requirement.
English translations for Immigration New Zealand, company-certified for residence visas, police and medical certificates, or signed by a named translator for visitor visas and university admission.
A certified translation for New Zealand immigration has one non-negotiable: Immigration New Zealand (INZ) wants an English translation of any document that isn't in English, made independently rather than by you or your family. VisaDocTranslation offers two options depending on what the translation is for: a company-certified translation for residence visas, police certificates and medical certificates at £16.79 per page, or a translation signed by a named professional translator for visitor visas and university admission at £41.99 per page.
One thing to know up front: neither option is suitable for converting an overseas driving licence to a New Zealand licence, which has its own separate translator rules.

INZ asks for a full English translation of every document not in English, made by an independent translator rather than by you, a family member or anyone else with an interest in the application.
The translation should cover the whole document, stamps and handwritten entries included, and it should be clear who made it. Ours are prepared by professional translators working to ISO 17100 and quality-checked before delivery, so each one is complete and traceable to the person or company that stands behind it.
INZ's requirements vary by visa category and do change, so read the checklist for your application before ordering. It's the one piece of immigration reading that genuinely repays the effort.
Choose the standard option for residence visas, police certificates and medical certificates. Choose the named-translator option for visitor visas and university admission.
Yes, two prices for one country. INZ draws the line between visa types, so we do too. The standard option is a company-certified translation with a signed statement of accuracy. The named-translator option is signed by a named professional translator with their full name, contact details and qualifications; because a translator reviews and signs it personally, it costs more and has no rush tier.
For a residence application, the standard option covers the supporting paperwork, from a birth certificate to a police certificate. For a visitor visa, the named option covers documents such as bank statements and employment letters that show how the trip is funded.
£16.79 per page for the standard option, or £29.99 per page for rush delivery within 8 hours. The named-translator option is £41.99 per page with next-working-day delivery. New Zealand orders are charged in pounds sterling.
Each price covers the translation, the certification and a quality check, with no separate certification or PDF fee, and every document includes 2 free revisions. Police certificates are among the documents we translate most often for INZ; our guide to police clearance certificate translation explains what's involved. Your card provider converts the sterling amount at checkout. Upload everything through the online quote form to see the exact total before you pay.
No. Driving licence conversion in New Zealand has its own translator requirements, and neither of our New Zealand options is suitable for it.
If you need your overseas licence translated to drive or convert a licence in New Zealand, check the current requirements with the New Zealand transport authority and use a translator they accept. We'd rather turn the order down than have a licensing officer turn you away. Our New Zealand translations are for immigration, police and medical certificates, visitor visas and university admission only.
Upload your documents on our online quote form, choose New Zealand, select the option that matches your application, pick a delivery speed if rush is available, and pay. Your translation is emailed as a PDF.
Standard and named-translator orders are delivered by the next working day (UK working days). Rush delivery within 8 hours is available on the standard option only. Not sure which option fits? Message us on WhatsApp or email with your visa type before you order.
