Every Italian-language document in a UK application needs a certified English translation: estratti and certificati di nascita, matrimonio and morte, the casellario giudiziale, diplomi and transcripts, bank statements and buste paga. A plain photocopy of the Italian original is not enough.
Italy issues two kinds of birth record and they are not interchangeable. The certificato is the short form; the estratto per riassunto includes the annotazioni, the margin notes that record marriages, divorces and name changes. Spouse visa files usually need the estratto, and the annotazioni are the part caseworkers read first. We translate every one.
The casellario giudiziale and the carichi pendenti are two separate certificates, and UKVI may ask for both. They come from the Procura, not the comune, and each has its own stamp and verification code, which we carry over exactly.
