Do I need to translate my transcript as well as my degree certificate?
Usually, yes. The certificate shows the award; the transcript shows what you studied and how you were graded. Universities and UK ENIC typically want both.
Degree certificates, diplomas, transcripts and mark sheets translated and certified for UKVI, UK ENIC, UK universities and professional regulators. From £15.59 per page.
Academic document translation is where years of study get condensed into a few pages of English, and every grade, module and seal has to survive the trip. UK universities, UKVI, UK ENIC and professional regulators all need a certified English translation of any degree certificate, diploma or transcript that isn't already in English.
We translate certificates, transcripts, mark sheets and diploma supplements from any country for student visa and Skilled Worker applications, university admissions and professional registration. Our guide to academic transcript translation for Skilled Worker and Student visas covers which documents each route asks for. If your new job is in education, health or social care, you'll probably need a police certificate translation too.

Yes, if it isn't in English or Welsh and you're submitting it as evidence. Student visa applicants may need to show the qualifications listed on their CAS, and Skilled Worker applicants may rely on a degree for points or to meet the English language requirement. Any foreign-language certificate or transcript must come with a certified translation.
On the student route, your university assesses your qualifications before it issues a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), and UKVI may then ask to see the documents the CAS lists. On the Skilled Worker route, a degree usually matters in one of two ways: a relevant PhD can earn points, and a degree taught in English can meet the English language requirement once UK ENIC has confirmed it. UKVI won't mark your dissertation, but it will check the paperwork that says you wrote one.
Translate the certificate and the transcript together. The certificate says what you were awarded; the transcript shows what you studied and how it was graded, and that's what assessors compare.
Yes, unless you use its Translation Waiver Service. UK ENIC, the UK's national agency for recognising international qualifications (operated by Ecctis, formerly UK NARIC), asks for certified translations of documents that aren't in English.
UK ENIC offers different services for different audiences. A Statement of Comparability tells employers, universities and regulators how your qualification compares with UK levels. For Home Office purposes, such as confirming a degree's level or that it was taught in English, it has a separate service, so check which one your application needs before you apply. Either way, send the full transcript as well as the certificate: an assessment based on the certificate alone can come back less conclusive than you'd hope.
We keep grades in the original scale and translate the grading key, because converting a grade is ENIC's job, not the translator's. Heading somewhere other than the UK? See sworn translation of academic records for Germany or academic records translation for USCIS.
Yes. UK universities, whether you apply through UCAS or directly, and UK professional regulators generally accept a certified English translation alongside the original-language document. Each sets its own rules, so check the admissions page or the regulator's guidance for anything extra.
Universities usually ask for certified translations of transcripts and certificates during admission, and again when you meet the conditions of an offer. Some want the translation sent directly, some want it uploaded with the original, and a few want both: the admissions page will say. Professional regulators, such as those for doctors, nurses, teachers or engineers, may ask for translated qualifications, registration certificates and certificates of good standing from your home regulator.
If you've already had your certificate translated for one purpose, the same certified PDF can usually be reused for another, as long as the document hasn't changed.
A complete English translation of every page: the institution and student details, each course or module, credits or hours, grades in the original scale, the grading key, dates, seals and signatures, plus a signed statement of accuracy with the translator's full name, contact details and the date.
Course titles are translated as they read, not adapted to the nearest UK module name, and the original title can be kept alongside where it helps an assessor. A 'very good' in one system can be a pass in another; we translate the word, and the assessor decides what it's worth. Names follow your passport spelling, with a note if the original transliterates them differently, and any passport or ID translation in the same order will match.
Mark sheets with handwritten entries, stamped corrections or embossed seals are described accurately rather than skipped.
Academic document translation costs from £15.59 per page. A degree certificate is usually one page; transcripts often run to several, so a certificate with a four-page transcript comes to £77.95.
Every language and every institution is charged at the same per-page rate, and the statement of accuracy and PDF delivery are included. Bachelor's transcripts tend to be longer than master's ones simply because there are more years to list.
If a university deadline or CAS check is close, same-day rush is £29.99 per page. Upload the documents for an instant quote with the page count and total before you pay.
Certified for UKVI, UK ENIC and universities — from £15.59 per page.
Usually, yes. The certificate shows the award; the transcript shows what you studied and how you were graded. Universities and UK ENIC typically want both.
No. Grades stay in the original scale and the grading key is translated. Comparing grades with UK classifications is for UK ENIC or the university, not the translator.
If every part, including the award, name, dates and seals, is in English, it can usually be submitted as it is. If any substantive part is only in another language, translate the whole document.
Usually, yes. A certified translation is the same document whoever reads it, as long as the original hasn't changed.
Yes. Secondary qualifications such as the baccalauréat, Abitur or Matura, and their mark sheets, are translated at the same per-page rate.
Not for UKVI, which accepts a certified translation. Most UK universities do too. If a particular institution or overseas body asks for notarisation, we offer that separately.
Yes. We translate diplomas, transcripts, registration certificates and certificates of good standing for UK professional regulators.
Most certificates and transcripts are delivered within 24 business hours. Same-day rush is available for urgent deadlines.
