What is the IPREM?
The Indicador Público de Renta de Efectos Múltiples, a Spanish reference index used to set income thresholds. The non-lucrative visa requires 400% of IPREM per month for the main applicant and 100% for each dependant.
UK bank, savings and investment statements translated into Spanish and signed by a traductor jurado, for Spanish residence visas, extranjería and property purchases.
A sworn bank statement translation into Spanish is a traducción jurada of your statements, signed by a traductor jurado appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It's most often needed to prove financial means for a Spanish residence visa, above all the non-lucrative visa, where the money in your account does most of the talking.
We translate every page and every transaction at £48.00 per page within 2 working days. Statements rarely travel alone: income usually comes with payslips and employment letters or tax returns, and every adult applicant needs a translated police certificate.
Spain
Often, yes. Spanish consulates expect financial evidence they can read, and many ask for a sworn translation into Spanish of documents in other languages. Check the current checklist of the consulate handling your application before ordering.
The non-lucrative visa (visado de residencia no lucrativa) is for people who will live in Spain without working, so the application rests on showing you can support yourself for a year. The London consulate's checklist sets the bar at 400% of the IPREM, Spain's public income reference index, per month for the main applicant, plus 100% for each dependent family member, or the equivalent in a foreign currency. IPREM is updated through the Spanish budget, so check the current figure rather than a forum post from three summers ago.
The checklist also asks for original, stamped documentation proving regular income or assets. For bank statements, that usually means official statements from the bank rather than screenshots from an app.
For the non-lucrative visa: evidence of regular income or assets, such as bank, savings, investment and pension statements. For the digital nomad visa: proof of remote-work income of at least 200% of the Spanish minimum wage (SMI), usually payslips or invoices backed by bank statements.
The digital nomad visa (visado para teletrabajo de carácter internacional) works differently, because it's about earned income from a company or clients outside Spain. Statements back up the contracts and payslips rather than replace them. Spain's golden visa, the residence-by-investment route, closed to new applications on 3 April 2025, so it's no longer an option for new arrivals.
It depends on the consulate and the visa. Ask the consulate how many months it wants and translate exactly those pages, nothing more.
Translating a full year of statements when the consulate wants three months is a quick way to pay for pages nobody reads. Sending one month when it wants six is a slow way to receive a request for more documents. Confirm first.
If you hold savings in several accounts, a bank letter confirming balances can be shorter than a pile of statements. Whether that's acceptable is the consulate's call, not ours.
No. A sworn translation reproduces amounts exactly as they appear, in pounds sterling. The consulate assesses the equivalent itself; its checklist refers to the IPREM amount or its legal equivalent in foreign currency.
A traductor jurado certifies that the translation matches the original, so adding euro conversions would mean adding figures the bank never wrote. Amounts, dates, account numbers, sort codes and IBANs are reproduced as shown, and transaction descriptions are translated line by line, including the cryptic merchant codes banks seem to generate at random. If you want to show the euro equivalent, put it in your own covering summary.
£48.00 per page, charged in pounds sterling, with delivery within 2 working days. Statements are priced per page like any other document, so the number of months you submit sets the total.
Every document includes a quality check, the traductor jurado's signature and 2 free revisions. Upload PDF statements from online banking or scans of paper ones on the online quote form, and you'll see the total before paying. Statements for a Spanish mortgage or property purchase are translated the same way, though banks and notaries set their own rules on whether they need a sworn version.
