What is an SA302?
An HMRC tax calculation showing the income and tax for one tax year under Self Assessment. It's commonly used as proof of income, together with the tax year overview.
HMRC tax calculations, tax year overviews, Self Assessment returns and P60s translated into Spanish and signed by a traductor jurado, for visas, lenders and Spanish tax matters.
A sworn tax return translation into Spanish is a traducción jurada of your UK tax documents (SA302 tax calculations, tax year overviews, Self Assessment returns or P60s), signed by a traductor jurado appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Self-employed digital nomad applicants, retirees proving income and buyers taking out a Spanish mortgage can all end up needing one.
We translate HMRC documents line by line at £48.00 per page within 2 working days. Tax documents usually travel with bank statements and payslips or employment letters, and our sworn Spanish translation page explains how sworn translation works.
Spain
Sometimes. Self-employed applicants for the digital nomad visa often use HMRC tax calculations to prove income, and non-lucrative visa applicants may use them to show pension or investment income. When they're submitted, documents in English usually need a sworn translation into Spanish.
Payslips prove a salary. For freelancers and company directors, the SA302 and tax year overview are the closest thing to an official record of what came in. Spanish consulates like documents issued by a public authority, and HMRC counts, even if its PDFs are unlikely to win any design awards.
Ask the consulate which tax years it wants and translate those, not the whole archive.
Any of them: SA302 tax calculations, tax year overviews, full Self Assessment returns (SA100 and supplementary pages), P60s, P45s, HMRC letters and certificates of UK tax residence.
The SA302 and tax year overview are the pair UK mortgage lenders usually ask for, and they're often the most concise evidence for Spanish offices too, because together they show both the calculation and HMRC's record of it. Full returns are longer and repeat a lot of blank boxes; whether to translate them depends on who's asking.
It can. Spanish public bodies, including the Agencia Tributaria, may ask for a Spanish translation of documents in other languages, for example when you claim relief under the UK–Spain double taxation agreement or need to show your tax history. Ask the office or your Spanish tax adviser which form of translation it needs.
Moving to Spain often creates a year in which two tax authorities take an interest in you at once. A UK certificate of residence, P60s and HMRC calculations are the usual evidence of what happened on the British side. Some procedures, such as the special regime for workers moving to Spain (often called the Beckham law), turn on whether you were tax resident in Spain in previous years, which may mean supplying UK records.
We translate; we don't advise. A Spanish gestor or asesor fiscal will tell you which documents to send and in what form, and we'll translate exactly those.
Often. Spanish lenders assessing a non-resident or newly resident buyer usually ask for proof of income, such as tax returns, payslips and bank statements, and may want them in Spanish. Requirements vary by lender, so ask yours before ordering a sworn translation.
Some lenders work happily in English; others pass files to an underwriting team that wants everything in Spanish, sometimes in sworn form. If the bank's mortgage adviser gives you a list, upload it with your documents on the online quote form and we'll quote for exactly that list.
£48.00 per page, charged in pounds sterling, delivered within 2 working days. An SA302 is often one or two pages; a full Self Assessment return is longer.
Every document includes a quality check, the traductor jurado's signature and 2 free revisions. Figures, tax years, references and box numbers stay exactly as HMRC printed them; we translate the labels around the numbers, never the numbers themselves. The UK's 6 April tax year, which puzzles Spanish readers about as much as British ones, is translated exactly as written, and Spain's calendar tax year is left for your adviser to reconcile.

It's the Spanish term for an income tax return. A Spanish office asking for your UK declaración de la renta usually means your Self Assessment return or HMRC tax calculation.
