NAATI Degree and Transcript Translation for Australian Skilled Visas

Complete English translations of degree certificates and academic transcripts for Home Affairs visa applications, signed by a named professional translator.

A NAATI degree and transcript translation is how your qualifications reach a Home Affairs case officer in English, most often as points evidence for a skilled visa. VisaDocTranslation offers NAATI certified translation for Australia, and your degree certificates and transcripts are translated in full and signed by a named professional translator with their full name, contact details and qualifications, at £41.99 per page, by the next working day.

These translations are for visa applications, citizenship and private use. They are not for university admission: if an Australian university has asked for translated transcripts, check its own requirements before ordering. See the Australia translation hub for everything this service covers.

Do I need to translate my degree for an Australian skilled visa?

Yes, if it isn't in English. Qualifications you claim points for in a skilled visa application are evidenced with your degree certificate and transcript, and Home Affairs needs an English translation of any non-English document.

For points-tested visas such as the Skilled Independent (subclass 189), Skilled Nominated (subclass 190) and Skilled Work Regional (subclass 491), your qualifications are part of the points claim. The case officer will expect to see the award certificate and usually the full academic transcript behind it.

We translate every subject, grade, credit value and note, including the grading scale on the back that everyone skips (case officers don't).

Can I use this translation for a skills assessment or university admission?

It is for visa use, such as the qualification evidence you upload to Home Affairs. It is not for university admission. Skills assessing authorities set their own translation rules, so check yours before ordering.

Most skilled visa applicants need a positive skills assessment before they can apply, and the assessing authority for your occupation decides what translations it accepts. Some publish detailed requirements; read them first. Once you lodge the visa itself, the same qualifications are uploaded to Home Affairs, and that's the use our translation is built for.

If you're applying to study at an Australian university, the admission is excluded from this service. The university will tell you which translators it accepts.

Which academic documents should I translate for Home Affairs?

Usually the award certificate and the full academic transcript for each qualification you rely on. Some applicants also translate a completion letter if the degree certificate hasn't been issued yet.

Send us exactly the documents you plan to upload, in the same versions. If you have both an original and a duplicate certificate, translate the one you'll submit so serial numbers and dates line up.

If you studied in more than one country, each qualification gets its own translation, signed separately. That keeps the evidence for each points claim self-contained, so a case officer reviewing your bachelor's degree doesn't have to dig through your master's transcript to find it.

  • Degree, diploma or trade qualification certificate
  • Full academic transcript, including the grading scale
  • Completion or graduation letter
  • Supplementary certificates, such as a diploma supplement

How are transcripts translated for an Australian visa?

In full, with the original layout mirrored so each subject, grade and credit lines up with the source. Course titles are translated faithfully, not adapted to Australian equivalents.

We don't convert grades or award titles to Australian equivalents; that's the assessing authority's job, and doing it in a translation would make it less faithful, not more helpful. Where an institution's name has an official English version, we use it.

If your qualifications support a claim for skilled employment points too, you'll likely be translating employment documents and possibly tax records at the same time. Upload them together so names and dates stay consistent.

How much does a degree and transcript translation for Australia cost?

£41.99 per page, delivered by the next working day, with 2 free revisions per document. There is no rush option for Australian orders.

Transcripts can run to several pages, so the total depends on page count. The quote form shows it before you pay, in pounds sterling. You receive a signed PDF by email, ready to attach in ImmiAccount alongside a colour scan of the original.
